The RCD or main switch trips and will not stay on.
An RCD trips when it senses current leaking to earth. That is its job, and it usually means something is faulty: an appliance with a failed element (water heaters and washing machines are frequent culprits), damp in an outdoor socket or light, or damaged cable. After heavy rain in Malta, water getting into external fittings and roof-mounted equipment is a common cause.
You can often find the faulty circuit yourself. Fixing what is wrong on it is an electrician's job.
Tell us what is happening and where. It reaches us marked as an emergency and goes to one CheckYourTraders-verified electrician, who rings you back.
While you wait

Fault finding on a tripping RCD or a dead circuit is €60 to €150 in the published Maltese guides, plus emergency labour at €50 to €100 an hour out of hours.

A band, not a quote: the low end is a straightforward job with clear access, the high end is the same job with the complications a site visit finds. Materials are included where the line says so.
